The girls thought that Daddy looked so nice in his work clothes that they just had to try them out for themselves. :) It doesn't get any cuter than this!

Pumpkin Patch 2009
This year we went up to Green Bluff with my MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers) to the Pumpkin Patch. The girls each got to pick out an apple from the orchard and began to eat them promptly. (Naomi took more time on hers..... she wanted to make sure to drop it in the dirt a few times for good measure).

Here the girls with the other kids in our MOPS group stop for a photo op. (I think there were two other MOPS groups wandering around also).
The kids loved Penelope the talking pumpkin :)
But not as much as they loved the pumpkin donuts and apple cider! The pumpkins on the table are the ones the girls got to pick out and take home.
I think Rosen was more interested in the hay on the hay ride then the tour of the orchards. :)

Oregon Trip 2009
This whole trip was planned because Nathan realized that I had never been to a college football game and, more importantly, never watched the Ducks play in Autzen Stadium. So he bought tickets and planned this whole trip to Eugene, OR around the game. 
These beautiful people are the couple that we stayed with while in Eugene - Andrew & Heather Barber. They are also big Ducks fans (a requirement in this town). 
As you can see, we annihilated WSU. It was kinda sad to watch (but not too sad!) Everyone assumed we were Coug fans because we came from Washington to watch the game so we made sure to sport the team colors.

This is the house that was formerly the birth center where Rosen was born. Pretty sad to see it is being converted into medical offices due to the midwifery birth center moving closer to the new hospital. Thankfully the construction guys let us walk around and take pictures while they were working on it. (One of their daughters was born there as well)

Field Trip to the Recycling Center
As part of our home preschool curriculum Rosen has field trips that correspond to what she is learning about. This particular week we were learning about being good stewards of God's creation and recycling. Instead of putting our recyclables out on the curb this week we saved them for Rosen to sort and take to the recycling center. She sorted glass, tin, aluminum, paper, cardboard and plastics at home. Then we drove down to the recycling center and she even put them in the correct places. I think it helped her to see where our garbage goes and to learn about the different materials that we are able to recycle and be able to identify them. Now whenever Nathan accidently throws away something that is recyclable she pulls it out of the trash and tells him, "Daddy that has to go in the recycle bin". Mission accomplished!

Melissa turns 27
This year Nathan invited his parents and my Dad over for some cake to celebrate my getting older. (My Mom, sister Ashley and Nanni took the girls and I out to a special birthday lunch at my favorite - The High Nooner) The girls had a great time with Papa playing horsey. And as you could probably guess, Nathan let Rosen pick out my cake design. (Its the exact same one she had at her birthday - cute)

Our Little Ballerina
Rosen has started ballet classes! She was so cute her first class - she didn't really participate, just sort of observed and absorbed it all. Then at the second class she jumped right in along with the other girls. She is in a class called Creative Movement for 3 & 4 year olds at the Academy of Dance. She goes to class once a week on Thursday nights and absolutely loves it. She asks to go all week. They all look so cute in their uniform leotards. (Photos are blurry due to being taken from outside the observation window)
